Social Media Networking is another good way to get your name out in front of people. There are several choices of sites to get involved in, depending on the type and level of involvement you are looking for.
MySpace – this site has been around for several years, but it is only in the past year or so that it has been getting attention from the business community. It is fairly fast and easy to set up a MySpace account and page. Remember that the purpose of using this site is to attract clients for your business, so try not to get carried away too much with the music and videos. If you present yourself as a professional sales person you will find that there are many substantial people who are already members.Squidoo – this was started by Seth Godin, one of the Internet’s most interesting participants. Seth is the ultimate marketer, but if you ask him what he does best he will give you a different answer. He says that what he does best is to be Seth Godin, meaning that he is just himself and he does not give himself any particular label. He has written numerous books on marketing and speaks all over the country about business and marketing. In Squidoo you create a lens, which is a blog of sorts with a very focused intent. It has features found in most blogs, plus some extras that you can explore.ActiveRain – This site is intended for real estate professionals and anyone who either directly or indirectly provides products or services to real estate professionals. You set up a main page with a profile and other information about you and your company. Then you add a blog about whatever area you wish to focus on in your writing. There are over 30,000 members as of this writing and this site should become even more popular over time. You are rated within your city, county, and state on a point system, which is based on how many times you post to your blog, add information to your profile, or comment on other members’ blogs. The benefit to having a higher ranking is that you have a better chance to be featured on the site and have more people view your profile. These are the three best places to get involved with to use social media as part of your overall marketing plan. Choose one to begin with and see what happens. Give it about a month so that you can more accurately track your progress on the search engines.

It seems obvious that you should strive to always satisfy your customers; however, many businesses ignore this very simple principle. Your existing customers are your most valuable asset, you must take care of them.
Satisfied customers will refer others to your site. This is more valuable than any advertising that you can buy. Research shows that referrals from existing customers are far more valuable than search engine referrals to your business.

WHAT’S in a name, you may ask. A lot, if big money is flowing, especially with most sectors riding the name game in the year of the bull. Markets will find a way to sell, and to that end rephrasing the mundane is a handy tool. Every boom creates its own favourites. Often these sectors are unknown and or those which enjoy low valuations. As the market develops a fondness for a particular sector the rechristening process begins just as effortlessly as the revaluation.

LED message signs have become popular marketing tools among retailers recently. The technology behind them has existed for years, but creative retailers are now discovering more ways to use them to grow their business. LED message signs allow retailers flexibility. One of the downsides to using traditional signage is that every time a sale changes or a holiday comes and goes, the signage has to be switched out. So retailers either find themselves storing a ton of signs that are rarely used, or having to purchase new signage for every promotion and holiday as they happen. LED signage allows retailers to have one sign that works all year, even for specialty promotions.

I recently had the experience of sitting for Jury Duty. Rather than bemoan my fate, I decided to see what the trial attorneys (AKA “Professional Persuaders”) could teach me about persuasion.
In a nutshell, it was a civil case – a traffic accident allegedly resulting in an injury.

Not so long ago I was in the middle of a sales call when a prospect spoke up and said the words: “I always buy based on lowest price. Period.”
In response I explained that it’s very rare that my price would be the lowest and that it probably wouldn’t make sense for us to try to work together given his strict buying criteria.

If you haven’t caught the latest buzz, it’s all about The Secret. I believe this is going to be BIG. A friend recommended it to me last month, so I picked up a copy of the DVD. If you haven’t seen it, it’s about manifesting your goals through the universal Law of Attraction. Summed up in a few words, it says what we think about is what we attract. Think good things, good things come. Think negative, and you’ll get more of the same. Of course, there’s a lot more to it than that. But what I want to highlight is not the content of The Secret, but rather the marketing secrets that will make it such a smashing success. We can apply some of these same techniques to our own business.

There are two main types of disadvantages in leasing business equipments. The first one is related to costs, while the second one is related to the ownership of the business equipments you are leasing. When we think of the overall cost, almost all business equipment becomes more costly if we decide to lease it instead of making outright purchase. Let us understand it with the help of an example. If we decide to lease a computer that has a market price of $4,000, we have to pay the total amount of $5760 at the rate of $40 per thousand per month. This is the standard rate of leasing business equipments. On the contrary, you need to pay only $4,000 when you decide to purchase it outright.

Corporate communication, corporate culture, corporate event, corporate governance – the word ‘corporate’ is often used to refer to something ‘relating to a corporation’; but it also has another, an older meaning – ‘united or combined into one body’. When speaking about organizations, the image of the body perfectly reveals the principles of their operation: each person in the group has their function, there is a strong coherence between the members, and everyone is working as one. This is precisely what corporate entertainment is for; namely, creating bonds and enhancing relationships to make individuals work as one body.

Will your customer’s first experience be their last or the beginning of something great?
Since moving to Oregon we have had numerous out-of-town visitors. Invariably, we take them out to eat. One of my favorite places to eat is a tiny café in Pleasant Hill. The Sunrise Café is a “blink and you miss it” kind of place. Tucked away between the local feed store and next to the one gas station in town, the Sunrise Café is a local favorite.
