Memory Boosters for the Business Mind
As an entrepreneur you process loads of information daily to successfully run your business. Your ability to remember key information can dramatically increase your productivity, enhance your networking efforts, while saving you time and energy.
Follow these 10 tips to boost your memory:
1. Get plenty of rest. Sleep can help improve your memory. A well-rested mind stays focused and is able to recall information quickly.
2. Eat healthy balanced meals. Try to eat 3 large meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and 2 smaller meals in between. Foods with antioxidants such as spinach, broccoli, and blueberries are excellent brain foods.
3. Exercise daily to improve your body’s circulation and efficiency.
4. Take your vitamins. Vitamin C helps prevent mental confusion. Vitamin B-3, B-6, and B-12 help concentration. Lecithin and Tyrosine help enhance your memory.
5. Use acronyms to remember tasks, groups of words, names, pins, and numbers. For example, P.O.P. prioritize organize paperwork, or N.O.T.E nine one two eight.
6. Use Rhyming to remember terms or important dates. For example, June eight lunch date with Kate.
7. Repetition. When you meet people you can remember their names by having them repeat their name and by using their name in conversation when appropriate.
8. Play memory games regularly. Puzzles, pair matching, and quizzes keep your brain active.
9. Use visualization techniques to build your memory. Create vivid mental pictures.
10. Affirm daily that you have a good memory by saying out loud: “I have a good memory. I recall information quickly and effortlessly.”
Your memory is only as good as you believe it is.
